This image was taken from a 2020 Forbes article that looked at how COVID-19 is impacting American energy use. The image uses data from the Energy Information Information and was included in a study conducted by Diana Sabau at Commerical Cafe. The image shows changes in residential energy consumption across all fifty states, comparing the second quarter of 2019 to 2020 (April-June). While some states saw decreases, others saw huge increases. Overall, energy consumption across the country increased by 8% during this period. The image was included in the Energy in COVID-19 working group's October 2020 media brief.
