Ali Kenner is an assistant professor of Politics and STS at Drexel University. Kenner has used PECE to collect and manage data for two book projects, Breathtaking: Asthma Care in a Time of Climate Change (Minnesota Press 2018) and a second ethnographic project focused on late industrialism in Philadelphia. She manages five groups on The Asthma Files platform: 6+ Philadelphia, Housing Philadelphia, Urban Climate Action and Research, Knoxville, and Mobile Asthma Apps.
She has also used PECE as a framework for two Drexel courses: Philadelphia in a Changing Climate (Spring 2016) and Civic Field School (Summer 2015). Both courses used The Asthma Files platform to collect and annotate artifacts related to environmental and governance issues in Philadelphia. Students in ‘Philadelphia in a Changing Climate’ worked collaboratively on mini-projects that resulted in PECE essays.
Kenner also co-hosted an ethnographic writing workshop for the 2018 SCA Meeting with Tim Neale using Disaster STS, “Writing Slow Disaster in the Anthropocene.” Disaster STS was used to create structure for the workshop, present artifacts, and archive event proceedings.
