Sharon Ku is an assistant professor in the STS Institute at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. Before joining NYCU, she was an assistant professor at the University of Virginia, a research faculty at Drexel University and the National Institutes of Health in the US. She has a Ph. D from History & Philosophy of Science at Cambridge University, and a BA and MA from the Institute of Electrophysics in Chiao Tung University. Her dual background in physics and humanities, along with her global trajectory in UK, US and Asia provide her the foundation and commitment in teaching and researching on global engineering practices and transgressive education. She established the UVA-China Engineering Ethics Global Classroom Series through the collaborations with Tsinghua, China Jiliang and Zhejiang Universities, and is currently experimenting a similar model in Taiwan.
