Hillary is a PhD student in Informatics at the University of California Irvine, co-advised by Dr. Melissa Mazmanian and Dr. Paul Dourish. Her research interrogates the proposition of technology as a productive tool. Rather than view digital technologies as a way to "do more," she studies the ways in which these tools upend, reinforce, and extend individual labor practices at home and at work - as well as how individuals modify tools to fit their unique needs.
